About
Becky Wright was born to play the piano, write songs, help people, and demonstrate the love of God to others. Her life, career and ministry work have consistently woven those passions together in a tapestry that continues to impact millions of lives. She is an award-winning singer/songwriter, preacher's wife, international missionary and former school music teacher. A Nashville recording artist, orphan advocate, worship leader, and conference speaker, Becky's heart has always been "to spend my life doing things that will have an eternal impact, lasting beyond the grave". After five recorded albums and two books underway, Becky launched the "Inspiring Hope Blog" in May 2016, to share her passion for helping others with transparent real account stories of life and faith.
Ms. Wright earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. Following the tragic death of her sister in 2004, Becky was compelled to eventually resign her full-time position in 2007 to devote more time to her family and ministry endeavors. Several other artists have recorded Becky's songs, but she knew that her testimony was most powerful-- coming from her own voice and life experience -- so she began recording and singing again.
Becky's album "Before the Throne: Worship & Hymns" was a 2016 Top 5 Nominee for "Gospel/Contemporary Album of the Year" with the Independent Music Awards. Ms. Wright was also named "Female Songwriter of the Year" at the 2011 and 2008 King Country Agape Fest, and been a yearly Top 5 Nominee Female Vocalist of the Year. She has been blessed to perform with or open for country artists such as Brian White, Jamey Johnson, Stella Parton, and Joanne Cash Yates. She's also performed with or shared stages with Christian/gospel artists Michele Pillar, Phil Joel (Newsboys), The Isaacs, Phil Driscoll, John Schlitt & Bob Hartman (Petra), The Imperials, Three Bridges, the Blackwood Brothers, Salvador, David Patillo, Bonnie Keen (First Call), and others. (Bonnie Keen contributed some co-writing and vocals on Becky's song "What Love Will Do".)
A passionate advocate for foster kids, orphans and adoption, Becky has been interviewed on radio stations globally, including Australia, Chicago, Hollywood, Nashville, Canada, and the UK. She has given free use of her adoption music to several agencies, including the Oklahoma Dept. of Human Services (used "Always Be Mom and Dad" in 2012 television PSA), the Arkansas Heart Gallery, ATTACh.org, and the Adoption Exchange. Ms. Wright is part of the Speakers Bureau for Adopt US Kids, sharing their passion to find "forever families" for waiting kids across the United States. She is a Premier Member of the Women Speakers Association, a Member of WomensMinistry.net, and a member of ESpeakers.com. See Becky's professional speaking profile HERE. Wright is a Coordinator for the Care Portal in her town, connecting foster kids in need with church members to meet practical and relational needs. Becky is also an Orphan Sunday Coordinator with the Christian Alliance for Orphans (CAFO).
After writing over 400 songs, Becky is now working on her first two books, 40 Days Before the Throne (a devotional), and The Architect's Daughter, due in the Fall of 2020. Simultaneously, she is writing a devotional book, 40 Days Before the Throne, and Love in a Lurch, providing Biblical wisdom for relationships in trouble.
Becky recorded her 5th album, "Before the Throne: Worship & Hymns" in 2014 in Nashville, with renowned producer and #1 Hit Songwriter Robert Jason. Jason also produced her previous album, "The Heart of Adoption" in 2011. Ms. Wright is also a featured soloist on two albums produced for LifeWay: "Legacy of Faith" (2017) and "The Journey of Christmas" (2015). Both are produced by Nashville producer and songwriter Dr. Phil Barfoot, with the Singing ChurchWomen and ChurchMen Choirs of Oklahoma. Becky travels the country singing and speaking at conferences, churches, women's ministry events, and civic groups. At the urging of many friends and colleagues, a new website was developed in 2013, beckywrightspeaks.com, focusing on her speaking events.
Becky is a Staff Missionary of Artists in Christian Testimony, International, a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) ministry based in Brentwood, TN. She is also a Music Evangelist with the Oklahoma Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists, and an Artist Associate for Kids Alive, International, an orphan-rescue and relief agency serving 17 countries. She and her husband, a retired Navy Chaplain and retired Child Welfare Supervisor (OKDHS) are happy parents of uniquely blended family of nine children, including through foster-adoption.
